25 years of EASY on the water. Celebrating at EASY SURF FEST
That was a birthday worth getting your wetsuit out for.
Wings over Lake Kierskie, old sails back on the water, familiar faces on the shore. Then medals, a few emotional moments, cake and dancing until morning. We were celebrating 25 years of EASY-surfshop and Bartek’s 50th birthday. There was nowhere we would rather have been. And no better crowd to share it with.
On 19 September, we estimate that more than 300 people came through Klub Szkwał on Lake Kierskie in Poznań, Poland. Customers, friends, families, the EASY crew and people we have met through years on the water. Sunshine, 21–22°C and gusts of up to 20 knots did the rest. Plenty of reasons to bring your kit. Plenty of reasons to stay late.
Five races and 32 riders at EASY WING CUP
It might have been a birthday party, but there was wind. Of course we were going racing. Thirty-two riders lined up for EASY WING CUP, including Bartek himself, spending part of his birthday on the racecourse in the number 1 bib.
Racing got under way at 12:45, with five races completed by the end. Together with Mysza Surf, we wanted proper racing excitement in a friendly setting where people could also give competition a try. It was good to see you out there.

The prize draw for a wing added another moment of excitement for the riders. Jakub Staszek was the lucky winner. Congratulations to him, all the medallists and everyone who lined up to race!
Windsurfing history back on the water
Windglider. Lechner. F2 Strato. Among the modern wings and foils were a few setups well worth stopping for. The EASY Windsurfing Retro Show took us back to a different era, long before foiling became part of everyday life on the lake.
Jerzy Nagórski brought along Olympic Windglider and Lechner setups. Adam, known to us as Serfer, added an F2 Strato board and F2 rig from the 1980s.
The best part came at around 15:00. Jerzy Nagórski took the Lechner out, Maciek Rutkowski sailed the Windglider, and Serfer joined them on the water. These were no longer exhibition pieces. They were doing what they had been built to do.
A little piece of windsurfing history, sailing alongside the wing foilers. It felt right for our 25th anniversary. Not just looking back at the old days, but getting out together, whatever year the equipment came from.
You did not need a race bib to get involved
The racing was only part of the day. Wing foil and SUP kit was ready to test on the shore, while two groups of taster lessons with the Mysza Surf instructors gave newcomers a chance to try a wing for themselves.
There was a meet-up with Maciek Rutkowski, too, followed later by an hour and a half of wing foil tuition with Mysza and more than a dozen keen participants. Serfer took a smaller group through a SUP workshop. Race, work on your technique or try something new: there was room for all three.
And you did not have to get wet. Justyna Krzymicka from Just4fit organised activities for the children, with plenty of time between sessions to catch up on shore. We wanted whole families to feel welcome, including those with no intention of putting on a wetsuit that day.
A tie-break in the EASY 25/50 Challenge
Not all the competition happened on the water. The EASY 25/50 Challenge tested your knowledge of EASY, Bartek and watersports. Twenty entries came in, and Natalia Bartosiewicz left no doubt about first place: 14 points out of a possible 14.
Behind her, things were less straightforward. Maja Morawska and Kalina Grabska both scored 12. It took a tie-break to settle second place, with Maja coming out on top. Here is how they finished:
- 1st place — Natalia Bartosiewicz, 14 points.
- 2nd place — Maja Morawska, 12 points and the tie-break winner.
- 3rd place — Kalina Grabska, 12 points.
Apparently, knowing your EASY history can get competitive, too.

A late-night board swap. Finding your way back to the water. A kit problem just before a trip, and the help that saved it. With 25 Years of EASY hiSTORIES, we handed the storytelling over to you. Instead of telling our own story of 25 years in business, we got to see some of it from your side.
1st place — Bartosz Skrętny
For an unforgettable story of a late-night board swap. Determination, adventure and emotion made it a story worth telling again.
2nd place — Thomas Dahl
For a personal and heartfelt account of returning to the water and a passion that stays with you for years. A reminder of how much our time on the water can mean to us.
3rd place — Arkadiusz Kuś
For a story of a problem just before a trip, help from EASY and a happy ending on the water. It captures something close to what we try to do every day: help you make the most of your time out there.
Congratulations to the winners, and thank you to everyone who shared their stories.
EASY Hall of Fame. This part was personal
The sport, the kit, the results: they all matter. But 25 years of EASY comes down to people. At the evening Hall of Fame presentation, Bartek paid tribute to those who taught him to sail, helped him get the business going and stayed alongside him through the years. It was one of the most moving parts of the day.
Robert Pic — for life lessons through sailing.
Robert coached Bartek and has been teaching generations of young sailors for more than 40 years. He could not make it to the party. The reason? He was away with the children at another regatta. Bartek shared that with us during the presentation. It is hard to imagine a better way to sum up four decades of dedication to sailing.
Witold Dudziński, known as Dzida — for putting wind in our sails.
For practical business advice, encouragement to take action and help in turning ideas into the next steps.
Ewa Białkowska, our Ewka — for helping build EASY over so many years.
For her support, daily work and presence through both the good times and the difficult ones. For all the years we have been able to count on her.
At that point, the anniversary was no longer a number. It had faces, memories and years of shared experience. This was why we had wanted to get everyone together in person.
A bonfire, live music and a party until morning
The bonfire was going by the afternoon, with soup, sausages and bread with traditional Polish pork spread taken care of by Adam Brzoza. A good reason to take a break from the water and sit down together.
Marini D’Arco played in the evening. At 21:00, out came the birthday cake, then the DJ took over. The day on the water was done. The dance floor had a long way to go.
The party carried on until morning. We have plenty of photos to remember it by, and even more memories of spending it with you.
